Turning your home into a naturific wonderland is much simpler than you think. And guess what? It can be done the midcentury modern way, which will better suit your décor style. Just think: Don Draper meets Seattle Tree Dweller.

1. The Seating
Stay true to your love of all things midcentury. Just stick to colors that naturally occur in nature—think: grays, blues, greens and browns (even yellows!) in different shades. A charcoal upholstered armchair will bring an understated cool factor to your favorite reading nook.

SHOP NOW: Stockholm chair, $499, Ikea.com

2. The Indoor Plants
Skip the terracotta pots (those just scream, Under the Tuscan Sun and you’re not Diane Lane, sorry!) and do up your walls with eco-friendly hanging planters. Stick to easy-care plants such as evergreens like ferns or drape-y succulents.

SHOP NOW: Wally One wall planter, $40, WoollyPocket.com

3. The Lighting
Your main light fixture is where you can go full on modern. Be daring and hang a statement pendant in your main room. This white-and-gold one looks like the coolest beehive I’ve ever seen and without the sting!

SHOP NOW: Beehive pendant, $995, Artek, DesignPublic.com

4. The Wall Coverings
Scared of wallpapering an entire room? Just do one accent wall with temporary wallpaper (you heard me, it’s temp-or-ary!). If you’re lucky enough to have a full-blown view of nature, good for you… but if you’re like the rest of us, tree printed walls are one major way to get back to nature.

SHOP NOW: Birch tree wallpaper, $40, SimpleShapes.com

5. The Table
Keeping fresh flowers or a terrarium on the table is my favorite way to warm up a living space. This artisan side table comes with a tiny sunken hole for your greens and is sure to be a talking point when your friends come over for cocktail hour.

SHOP NOW: Nurselog side table, contact for price, Hinterland.com
