When interior designer, Leura Spielman (she was on Bravo’s Million Dollar Decorators) turned entrepreneur, she launched her own business, Laurel & Wolf, that makes affordable interior design possible (think: flat fee!). Check out their cozy space in the super-cute neighborhood of West Hollywood, California.
Set in a cool 1960’s bungalow in Los Angeles, Spielman, who worked on the design herself with the help of her community manager, Carisse, kept a modern-retro vibe. But, with every great design comes function. She says, “We wanted to create a space that felt cozy yet pulled together with lots of functional seating for all the meetings and events we host.”
With a blend of contemporary furniture and accents in a variety of styles and textures, Spielman was able to reflect the diverse types of design they do as a company. Despite the various styles, they were able to keep the space clean by keeping the color palette simple in black, white and grays. We just love the use of lucite and the layering of rugs!
Shopping for expensive-looking affordable pieces, Spielman found some chic objects from Target and Urban Home. She says, “Everyone who come into our office wants to purchase them and they are always flabbergasted when I tell them what they cost! Who doesn’t love a great piece at a great price?” We agree!
True to a mid-century office (um, Mad Men?), a stocked bar cart is a major necessity. Maybe every water cooler should be replaced with one of these? Hint, hint.
